A Beginner's Guide to Color Grading Photos

Color grading is a good chance to add your personal touch to an image and to take it from good to memorable. It is a deceptively complex thing, though, and it takes a good eye and light touch to do it effectively. This helpful video tutorial will show you some great first steps and techniques for color grading images that are sure to get you up and running in no time.

Coming to you from Aaron Nace with Adobe Creative Cloud, this great video tutorial will show you the ins and outs of color grading a photo. Color grading is often one of the most recognizable aspects of a professional's photos and is a characteristic that really shows your personal style. As such, it is well worth taking the time to add that little touch to your images as well. The thing to remember, though, is that you only need a little bit to make a big impact. Both Lightroom's and Photoshop's color grading tools apply fairly drastic edits with just little nudges to the sliders, and it can be very easy to end up going overboard and turning an otherwise great image into something a bit gaudy. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Nace.
