If you have worked a lot in Photoshop, you will have probably noticed that automated tools like the Spot Healing Brush generally work perfectly well for something like a pimple. However, if you are working on something with regular or directional texture, such as a shirt, the automated tools might be able to replicate the texture, but not in a way that aligns properly with the structure at large, making the edit look artificial and obvious.
