Velcro Man Super Desk By Efficiency Machine

Recently, I started working with a new steadicam operator for my video productions in the New York City area, Kyle. Aside from his upbeat positive demeanor, I noticed that every piece of equipment seemed to be customized with velcro for maximized efficiency. Little did I know, he had started a youtube series called "The Efficiency Machine" showcasing his different velcro-inspired inventions such as his "Super Desk." See below for more examples of his velcro madness/genius.

I'll be honest, I never thought of using velcro for such every day applications. I know some may consider things like his velcro skateboard "wacky", but as a New York City resident myself, it actually makes good sense. Check out some of his other videos on his youtube page as well as a few highlights below (semi-warning for language):

Kyle is a fantastic and very talented steadicam operator, a really nice guy, and his crazy ideas definitely have some genius to them. What do you think?

wow

hes not all there is he?

this is the greatest thing I've seen in months

I envy his energy level.

Me too.

...also, the bottom three vids don't appear to be linked correctly.

Should be good now. Sorry about that.

No worries, I watched the videos on his youtube channel -- just wanted to give you the heads up!

That's entertainment!

Cocaine. He haz it.

I want my 2.5 minutes back....

His closets are like a TARDIS, bigger on the inside!

Kyle is the MAN! He was an awesome guy to work with.

This guy totally reminds me of the Mystery Science Theater 3000: :)

I find it hard to believe he actually gets any real work done like that. With the time he wasted velcroing everything, I would have been done with my day's work.

Awesomeeeeee

That's actually a pretty cool desk...looks like it's motorized and even if you stick a chair under it, you won't take out your knees on a crossbar. Who makes it?

Not bad.

One thing I saw, though: the stereo sound switching the channels from left to right when he's talking is annoying. Wrong position of the microphone in relation to the camera. *Mic was on the right of the camera, at his chest level.* bad audio... bad!

His wall video is intense! #velcrooverload

If he can fit everything in the closet then why doesn't he just keep it there? I keep all my camera gear on hooks and in bins in a closet and I use some of it almost every day. When I come home it just goes back in the closet. Why would I want to look at a dozen rolls of tape and a utility belt in my living space?

Efficiency Machine! :D
In ten years, for sure, he will rent everything and somebody will carry it!
Ah, for sure, he is also a little bit crazy! ;D If you know what I mean!

There... I velcroed it

Kyle is awesome!! I worked alongside with him on a short film project in NYC about a year and a half ago, that's why i had to take a second glance when I checked fstoppers and saw him on the front page!
