The RF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM is its successor, and it brings with it some worthwhile improvements, most notable being its increased magnification. I have owned the EF version of this lens for around 10 years now, and it is probably my most stress-free lens. It simply outputs fantastic images without fuss every single time, which makes it one of my favorites for portraiture work in addition to its designated usage. The RF version adds a few improvements on top of that, including increased maximum magnification (1.4x), up to 8 stops of stabilization when combined with in-body stabilization, customizable Control Ring, and the new Spherical Aberration Control Ring, all in a dust- and moisture-sealed body.
