A wide-aperture 24mm lens is one of the most useful primes you can carry in your bag, offering a wide but not too wide focal length that can work in a variety of scenarios. The Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE offers great image quality at an affordable price, and this great video review takes a look at the performance and image quality you can expect from it.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this awesome video review takes a look at the Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE lens. Like most Samyang lenses, the 24mm f/1.8 is highly affordable, and it offers a variety of great features, including:

  • Two extra-low dispersion elements, two aspherical elements, and three high refractive index elements for reduced chromatic aberrations and increased sharpness
  • Ultra Multi-Coating for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast
  • Linear STM autofocus motor
  • Non-rotating front filter mount
  • Rounded nine-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh
  • Very portable: 2.6 inches by 2.8 inches and 8.1 ounces (230 g)

Altogether, the 24mm f/1.8 looks quite an impressive lens for the price with some especially good astrophotography performance. With a wide aperture and versatile focal length, it looks like quite a useful lens for a range of applications, from events work to astrophotography and more. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts on the lens.
