Which of These Two Impressive Fuji Portrait Lenses Is Better?

Fujifilm's XF 56mm f/1.2 lens has long been one of the most popular portrait lenses out there. However, Sigma lenses recently arrived for XF shooters, creating a new option for X Series shooters, including the 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. So, how do the two options compare? This excellent video comparison takes a look at both to help you choose the right one for you.

Coming to you from Gordon Laing, this great video review compares the new Sigma 56mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens to the popular Fujifilm XF 56mm f/1.2 R. The Sigma lens costs about half the same price as the Fujifilm option, making it an intriguing option, and both offer that same classic 85mm (equivalent) focal length. Altogether, both lenses are great options for Fujifilm photographers, and no matter which you pick, I am really glad to see Sigma expanding their lens lineup to new mounts. The company is well known for producing quality lenses at very affordable prices, and that always helps to keep pressure on other manufacturers to continually innovate and produce new and exciting glass. Hopefully, we will see Sigma expand to even more mounts soon! Check out the video above for Laing's full thoughts on both lenses.
