10 Ways Tethering Can Improve Your Photography

Most of us simply take our photographs, pop the memory card out of the camera, put it in our computer, and download the photos. But many professional studio photographers tether their cameras to their computers, and it can do a lot to improve both your workflow and the quality of your images. This excellent video tutorial discusses 10 reasons why tethering is worth trying in your own work.

Coming to you from Karl Taylor, this great video tutorial discusses 10 reasons why you should try tethering in your photo workflow. Tethering can be great for both you and your clients. When you show your clients the back of your camera, they often do not understand that what they are seeing may be far from the finished image, and tethering can help to bridge that gap, as you can automatically apply a range of edits as soon as the image is ingested. Beyond that, the tiny LCDs on the back of our cameras can be annoyingly small when you are trying to check things like critical focus, and that task can be made infinitely easier when you are looking at a large monitor. It is definitely something worth trying if you have not done it before. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Taylor.
