An App to Help Photographers Find Workspace Away From Home

An App to Help Photographers Find Workspace Away From Home

Culling, processing and editing jobs is a time consuming endeavor to say the least. Hours go by with you hunched over the Wacom as you find yourself leaning ever closer to your screen. Sometime you just need to get out of the studio (or your apartment) and find a different environment to keep yourself sane. Sometimes you are away on assignment and you just need to find a place with wifi, a plug, a comfortable seat and a good cup of coffee. Well the Work Hard Anywhere app aims to help you with that, by creating a community of freelancers who share their favorite haunts to plug in, plop down and post up in.

It's not always easy locating a place that suits your needs. I do a lot of street shooting in unfamiliar cities where it is often necessary but daunting to find a place to get some work done in. But the Work Hard Anywhere app may offer a solution as it maps out nearby option and provides you with feedback on things like: wifi usability, outlet availability, pricing, parking and comfort.

As freelancers, one of the most frustrating things we deal with is the process of finding a decent work space when we’re on the run or in a foreign city.
Often times, we show up to a cafe that seems promising for the work day, yet the wifi is virtually unusable, or there is nowhere to plug in. With your help, we hope to solve this conundrum.

Work Hard Anywhere (WHA!) is a community of creatives, freelancers, and entrepreneurs who work beyond the corporate cubicle. We are in the process of building an app to further connect this community - a tool spawned from our frustration with finding a good cafe or decent work space when we're on the run or in a foreign city. It will help the community easily share and explore great spots to get work done, so they can focus on what's truly important: the work itself.

Proud to have been a "pioneer" for this app. It's creators are talented, stand-up gentlemen.

Pleasure's ours, Josh! And thanks for sharing all the stunning photos for our wallpapers. This one's been people's favorite: http://workhardanywhere.com/portfolio_page/rose-window/

Thanks for the write-up, Kenn! Big fan of fstoppers, you can only imagine how stoked I am!

My pleasure Benson. I'm confident I will get a fair amount of use out of the WHA app, so I'm pretty stoked myself. :)

Anything that can give a business an edge over its competitors in this age should be very well received. Who knows maybe there's a market for full-on cafes offering a decked out workspace. Great idea for an app well done

Fantastic idea! Will there be an android version?

Hey Jesse! It's in the plans, but since we're funded by ventures and with limited resources, things may not progress as fast as we hope. Hopefully soon :)

Awesome idea. Unfortunately as an Android user it doesn't seem I'd be able to check it out, you don't happen to have an online app free version of this do you?
