What's In The Night Sky For June 2023

For astrophotographers around the world who are wondering what there is to shoot in June, Alyn Wallace has you covered with this in-depth guide to what's in the night sky.

For many in the Northern Hemisphere, we are now in the Milky Way core season. However, this greatly depends on your latitude, which Wallace explains in great detail. Sadly, for those above 55 degrees, the chances for now are incredibly low of seeing the Milky Way. For those below 55 degrees, there are still some great chances to photograph the Milky Way and one of the last chances to capture the Milky Way arch.

For those in the Southern Hemisphere, the nights are longer due to approaching the winter solstice ,and the Milky Way will be visible as soon as darkness falls. The Southern Hemisphere is always more fortunate than its northern counterpart, as it gets to see much more of the core. The night sky is truly a remarkable place!

Throughout the month, there are many other amazing sights to see and hope for, such as Noctilucent Clouds, which make amazing photographic subjects. We also have planetary conjunctions, which are beautiful to see and can make great subjects in the night sky.

"When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars"

Really?!!!?

That sounds like fun! Ok you got me, it was supposed to be astronomical events so thank you for pointing out that mistype.
