John Poppleton is a Photographic Artist from Northern Utah. Since 2010, John has been photographing black light bodyscapes. Each shot is a process that takes several hours where John uses temporarily florescent paints to turn the human body into a beautiful landscape. John then photographs his freshly painted subject under black light to create some truly awe inspiring pieces.
John became a professional portrait photographer in 1993 and shot portraits and weddings for over 20 years, receiving numerous awards and recognition for his work. While John has always had an interest in black lights, his inspiration came in 2009 when shooting a friends concert under black light. Shortly after, while struggling to fall asleep one night in Denver, John began to have the inspiration which eventually brought him into the studio with a black light.
If you are interested in Johns work, you can check out his Facebook page or view more of his work on his website. While John is not the only photographer that I have seen use a black light in their work, his pieces are imaginative, meticulously composed and truly inspiring. Any artist that puts this much attention to detail in their work deserves credit in my opinion. If you've ever shot under a black light, feel free to share any tips or experiences that you've had below.

I like that he gets to tie in painting into his photography, very cool!

I don't think you know what that word means.

That is one of the coolest things I've ever seen

Very impressive!
