For this next critique, we want to see more than just a pretty picture. We want to see photographs that exude emotion. As with many of these genre-based critiques, "emotion" will be open to interpretation but try to upload uniquely powerful images. Keep in mind that we want to feel something when we see your submission, and no, a pretty sunset won't cut it.

Each photographer is allowed to submit up to 3 images. Please write a quick paragraph about how you created your shot so that we can discuss it in the live critique. The highest-rated image and one random image will win a free tutorial from the Fstoppers Store.

Not necessarily. Take the community critiques for instance. Plenty of times images voted down because the hosts couldn’t “figure out” an image, didn’t understand / overlooked the relevance of a image component or simply aren’t proficient / well versed in the subject matter (episode 30 - Wildlife Photography is a great example).

Unfortunately, people have different levels of skill, degrees of critical thinking, observation or simply conscious / unconscious bias.

Take wedding photography, While I might manage ok with technical critique and to some degree image composition I’d be shit in providing a strong objective argument on whether an image is a good or poor wedding photograph.
