French photographer Antoine Bruy spent three years documenting the lives of men and women who have abandoned society for the wilderness of Europe for his fascinating “Scrublands” series. After photographing in five European countries, Bruy is turning his attention to the United States; specifically, remote settlements in the Appalachian Mountains.
In order to complete the “American chapter” of “Scrublands,” Bruy is raising money through FotoFund, a crowd-funding website exclusively for photographic projects. Those who donate can receive post cards, prints, or a copy of a limited-edition “Scrublands” photo book, depending on donation amount. You can help Bruy bring “Scrublands” to America here.

What percentage of people in this world live without a credit card?
I've always liked the exploration into the little scene sub-cultures. I especially enjoyed Benoit Paille's Rainbow Family series - they look very close to this in style. Hope to see more.
