How to Process Drone Photos in Lightroom

Chances are that many of you are familiar with the works of Michael Shainblum. Not only was he Fstoppers' Photographer of the Month earlier this year in September, but he also garnered quite a bit of acclaim for his iconic shot of the solar eclipse in August this year. Aside from being an impressively accomplished landscape photographer, Shainblum is a skilled photography mentor. I've been a fan of his work for years now, and to this date, his tutorial covering post processing for star photography is one of the most enlightening courses I've ever purchased.

Lucky for you, Shainblum also has an impressive array of free tutorial videos published on his YouTube channel. In this latest tutorial, he goes over his post-processing methodology for photographs taken with a drone. I really appreciated the reasons he gives for some of his choices in processing and the details he shares about the thought processes used to design the appropriate look and feel for his shots. Even if you don't have a drone with which to capture aerial shots, this tutorial is well worth watching, and the processing techniques will translate across to a multiplicity of other photography genres.

Personally, I found this quick tutorial to be quite helpful and made me think about some of my own processing techniques and how I can improve them. So give it a watch and, if you don't already, go find Shainblum on Facebook or Instagram to see some truly beautiful photography.
