Summer is just about upon us, and it brings with it a myriad of blooming flowers and plants that make for wonderful subjects. The awesome thing about flowers and plants is that there are potential subjects literally all around us, and you do not need to travel far to find worthwhile opportunities. If it is something that really interests you, consider picking up a macro lens. Not only are they wonderfully sharp, making them great for showing off the texture and details of your subjects, their macro capabilities will allow you to create more abstract photos that show off the intricate structure of plant life, letting you get all the more mileage out of a single subject.
