Shooting with natural light or strobes doesn't have to be a one or the other proposition: you can easily mix them in the same shot to create interesting outdoor images. This great video shows you that there are quite a few ways to do that.
Coming to you from Hk Visuals, this helpful video shows the many ways you can mix strobes and natural light. In it, he uses a single Broncolor Siros L and combines it with sunlight for his shots. When most people think of mixing natural light and strobes, they probably think of a specific scenario: using the sun as a backlight and then using the strobe to bring up the exposure on the model. And while this is certainly a very useful way to combine the two, it's not the only way. As he shows, by changing the positioning and angle of the strobe and the sun relative to the model, you can create a variety of lighting scenarios that all result in many different looks, greatly increasing the number of shots you can come home with.
