The Detail panel in Lightroom often does not get as much attention as it should, with many photographers opting to leave it at its default settings. However, it can make an appreciable difference in your final images, and this great video tutorial will show you everything you need to know for using to sharpen your photos.
Coming to you from Chelsea Nicole Photography, this helpful video tutorial will show you how to use the Detail panel in Lightroom for sharpening your photos. While the default settings in this panel often work just fine, you can take much more control over your final image by changing these settings, and often, you can improve the final output quite a bit, especially when you are working with high-noise photos, where refining your sharpening mask can help to eliminate artifact issues across relatively uniform areas, especially since you would not want those areas sharpened anyway. Of course, you can also take it too far, and oversharpening can often create a rather unnatural look, so be careful not to go overboard (try stepping away from your computer for a minute and taking a second look with fresh eyes before your final export). Check out the video above for the full rundown.
