Callet is a 9 year old Matsigenka indigenous tribe member that lives deep in the peruvian Amazon. I had the chance to spend some time with this tribe and do some documental work (you can find more images in my profile).
The murky waters of the Amazon basin make for a nice contrast between water and human element. And the drop of water from his chin adds up some interest in my opinion.
The Matsigenka are under threat due to big oil and wood companies invading and destroying their terroritory. There's a very big chance they will have to move elsewhere or maybe even cease to exist in the near future. It's a shame as these people harm absolutely nobody and have an amazing culture of relying in nature and respecting it to survive.
I hope you enjoy this portrait as well as the series i have on my profile.
