The sun was harsh, the students new to the rowing and I had to grab the camera real fast. ISO 320, 1/1000, F2.8.

I like the repetition in the water (the light repeating in it), the shadows of the rowers, the peddles, the fact that rowing is a form of repetition, the repetition of the people sitting in a row and from top to bottom the cut almost become endless.

I have nothing else to say about this pic than; I love it, perfect in black and white, an excellent shot!!

Thank you for your kind words. It's the first time I dared enter a Critique the Community. I am always very impressed by the shots here and the imposter syndrome is killing me.

I may be a bit biased since I'm a rower. This is a stunning shot! The sunlight hitting the water and mixing with the shadows gives it such an organic feel in contrast to the mechanics of the boat. The from-above angle is a classic for the sport and I always wished someone had gotten a pic of me like that. My only slight critique is that the right side of the photo is a bit too dark,

Side note, is this the novice team? They seem to be all over the place with their blades.

You have a very sharp eye. Thanks for the lovely words. It was one of their first time out on the water for this student team.
