This is 1 of 3 in a series I took to capture the essence of the Columbia River Gorge including all the natural and human elements: towering rock cliffs, vibrant sunsets/rises, the massive river itself, vast overlooks, trains, and I84.

I took the sky and water photos during several long exposures and blended them together making one ultra long exposure for sky and water. Then I caught light trails on the opposing side of the river in the distance and stacked those. The trickiest part was waiting for the trains. It tooks 6 visits to catch the train around golden hour both exiting and entering the tunnel which requireda very fast shutter for freezing the motion. I took everything in photoshop and layered it to the final scene you see here.

EXIF:
Trails and Sunrise: F13, 15s, ISO 100, 20mm x 13
Train: F7.1, 1/125s, ISO 800, 20mm
Tunnel Light: F3.5, 1/160s, ISO 1600, 20mm
