This male mandarin duck was really love drunk, chasing a female. Normally they are hesitant to get really close to people, but in this case he was at the closest focusing distance of my lens, so he literally couldn't have gotten any close, add to that the perfect late day lighting and to be honest lucky framing ( when they almost fill the frame and move quickly it can be hard to keep track), then I think this picture fits really quite well in this contest.
