2.42 - "Needs Work"

This was a fun day shooting this pinup model at an airport with all these abandoned vehicles, planes, and helicopter on Lincoln, Illinois...this image was taken on the back wing of the helicopter..it was very windy and chilly and she did an awesome job...my gear was a Sony a7r2/Sigma Art 50mm 1.4 and processed only in lightroom

I really like this picture, probably because I like "period" style portraits... especially the 1930s and 40s. The color combination of green/yellow and copper of the helicopter, with the green accent in her hair, gloves, and warm skin tones works great together. Lighting on her face and pose are well done, in my opinion, and her eyes are nice and bright... contrasting nicely with the moody background.

In my opinion, it's at least a solid 3-star image... I gave it four stars because I think it was underrated by other people, and I'd be happy to have it in my portfolio. The only negative, or thing that I find distracting, is the vertical pole in the sky over the subject's shoulder. Possibly that's the element which other people think needs work? Or maybe the small halo around the woman is something to be fixed.... something I just noticed on the big monitor. A 2-star rating seems to be a catch-all for most people who vote... I just wish I knew more of exactly what people think needs improvement if that's their vote.

I appreciate the CC..the pole you're referring to is a propeller on the back of the helicopter and i do notice a small amount of halo around the hair

I love the color work in this composition. It has a wonderful old-school vibe to it.
