2.79 - "Solid"

"Old sea dog" is the tittle of this photo.

I know this face can give the impression that of a tough and gruff guy, but I assure you that it is the exact opposite. I met this gentleman during one of my walks along the beach, that day the sea was very strange, covered in mist. At some point a saw this mysterious subject strolling inside the fog. I was intrigued by his appearance and I asked him to take some pictures, he had no problems with that. I told him that he really looked like an "old sea dog", a sort of good pirate. He liked the comparison and laughed, after which he greeted me and thanked me for my time.

As for post work, I preferred black and white because the colors and especially those of the jacket had no meaning, as there was a bit of fog everything was quite dull. I emphasized the lines on the face, contrasts and also details in the hair that I particularly liked.

I used a Canon 80D with 50mm, aperture 5.0, shutter speed 1/640, ISO 2500.

Without seeing the color image I think I can agree that the black and white is more suitable. It allows for the features of the face to become the star rather than the colors. Out of curiosity was it a camo jacket? I see some slight patterning that looks as such.

Spot on, that's the jacket. šŸ˜Š

Haha, B&W was still the way to go anyway but even more so in this case šŸ˜‚

Excellent image!

haha, thank you so much šŸ™
