3.33 - "Solid"

You know it when you see it. A magical time that will forever pass in just a few moments. From a tour boat on the Danube in Budapest the challenge was to get enough light capture the incredible details of the Parliament Building with out losing sharpness to 1) motion blur from the boat on the water and 2) from having to use a very high ISO. From the opposite shore line with a tripod and a long shutter speed would have been much preferable. Times like these are what large capacity memory cards were made for. F4 was the largest aperture I had on the Nikon 24-120 lens I had with me. 70mm for a little zoom and compression. 1/400 shutter was as low as I thought I could go, though I tried a lot of other combinations. The moving boat just made too much blur at a slower shutter. And 12800 ISO. Yes, that high. I am surprised this image was usable at all but I was impressed with the clarity and loved the detail. Nikon D750.
