"Once in 80,000 Years" - Yosemite National Park, October 2024
A truly once-in-a-lifetime moment capturing the near-Earth flyby of Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS high above Yosemite National Park atop Sentinel Dome. This is a single 4 second exposure with the illumination of the valley coming from the rising full moon directly behind me. A sight that will not be seen again for 80,000 years.
