Solitude

I was drawn to taking this photograph from the nature of a simplistic, minimalistic composition with a great leading line. The day at the beach was a typical hazy bright day.

For post-processing all that was required was a touch of leveling the horizon, I'm not always the best at handheld in the wild, I'd rather use a tripod!

The photo was taken at Rockaway Beach, Oregon.

I was shooting almost directly towards the midday sun, so I added a #25 Red filter to add emphasis in contrast to the harshly lit landscape.

The photograph was taken October 2024 using my SLR Minolta SR-T201 version 1 with a Rokkor-X 50mm f/1.7 I bought in 1976, and Kodak T-Max 100 film. I am horrible at keeping notes when I shoot film but I can guess I was shoot at f/8 or f/11, ASA/ISO 100, shutter speed...whatever was required for 3 stops of exposure compensation.

My other current cameras are a Pentax P3n (film), but I mostly photograph using either my Canon EOS R or EOS R5.
