This photo was taken way back in 1981 or 1982 out in the Indian Ocean back in the early 1980's on a Canon AE-1. I had a Leica Telephoto lens that I had picked up in Singapore in 1980. Back then, don't even ask me what F/stop - ISO meant...I had a camera, bought film, liked certain film with decent ISO and shot photos. A lot were blurry, a few turned out, and I was happy with what I got.

The Aircraft Carrier alongside was the USS Kitty Hawk CV-63, I was on the USS White Plains AFS-4 which was a supply ship preparing to send Diesel Fuel and Stores to the Kitty Hawk. The Carrier alongside the White Plains was approximately 120 - 180 feet. We would send the rig to the carrier which consisted of a 3/4 inch Highline Wire for fuel and a 1 inch Span-wire for supplies.

This photo is a close to the original as it could be. I did slightly edit a bit in Lightroom Classic to pull the shadow a bit.

Today, I started with a Canon 80D, Tamron 70-200 mm lens, 2x doubler. I have upgraded to a Canon R5, Canon 24-105 mm lens, and a Canon 200-800 mm lens.
