I took this image of a stretching arctic fox during my winter 2019 expedition to Svalbard. I was using a Canon EOS 5Ds R which is by no means a wildlife camera. Autofocus wise, I had to rely on the one central cross type AF point, single shot and pick my moment carefully. Getting a shot in focus was a celebration, and even more so if the shot was taken at the right moment. I would never use the burst mode as the shutter shock would drastically soften the image captured using the high resolution sensor.
A studio machine, with terrible ISO performance over 800, questionable autofocus and slow speed, gave me my all time favourite image! If I was to take this image again with my current equipment (R3 and R5ii) I would probably have 50 other slightly different variations to choose from!
