2.2 - "Needs Work"

My first camera was a Nikon D60. I was 20 years old when I took this photograph, on the first day of 2012. I stepped outside with my camera and tripod, hoping to capture the foggy atmosphere of the new year’s first morning.

In my camera bag, I had two lenses: the standard 18-55mm kit lens and a 50mm f/1.8D prime. For this shot, I used the kit lens, close to its widest focal length. Although I didn’t have advanced editing skills back then, I’m grateful that I had the foresight to shoot in RAW.

Today, I’ve transitioned from DSLR to mirrorless and from Nikon to Canon, now shooting with a Canon R6. Still, I take just as much pleasure in revisiting my archive, as these images remind me of my early days in photography.
