I was recently invited to the San Diego Sheriff's Department Encinitas Station to take some portraits of their night watch deputies. This particular deputy had such a strong presence and the face of an actor, but was also incredibly nice and well seasoned as both a US Marine and a peace officer. We only shot 5 poses, but he really nailed it on the second shot.

Camera used was a Nikon Z8 with an 85mm f/1.8 Z series lens. Shot at 1/60 second at f/4 and ISO 400. Lighting consisted of two Godox V1 flashes, with the main light in a Phottix Raja 85cm Octagonal softbox, and the hair light in a Godox strip box. The backdrop, which was made by Kate Backdrops, was light with an LED strip light. The flag was just a cheap one I found at Home Depot.
