Baba Naresh

I photographed Naresh during the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage in India, where 600 million people traveled from across India to bathe in the river Ganges. India’s holy men or ‘babas’ are drawn to the spiritual significance of this festival. I encountered Naresh in the backstreets of Varanasi, away from the crowds and isolated from the chaos of Kumbh Mela.

Tech: I photograped Naresh with a Nikon D800 and 24-70mm lens. I used a strobe with a mid-sized Octabox, camera left, as the main light source.
