The Garden of Eriko

This portrait was created in 2019 during a lighting test for a fashion client launching a bold print collection. Shot on a Nikon D600 with a 24–120mm lens at 32mm, the scene was lit entirely with two Elinchrom D-Lite 1 flashes using colored gels to sculpt contrast and evoke emotional tension.
The concept was to immerse the models in a surreal, floral universe—where skin, fabric, and background blur into one another, creating a layered visual narrative.
The biggest challenge was managing saturation and preventing color bleed while working in a tight indoor space with minimal equipment.
What started as a test evolved into a study of identity, intimacy, and visual chaos. Post-processing was minimal, focusing on preserving tonal richness and the painterly atmosphere shaped by the light.
