This is a photo of my daughter taken in our living room on January 17, 2025. One my favorites because of her genuine laugh. She needed images for her portfolio. I used a 7-foot Savage white paper backdrop, 36-inch Glow Parapop attached to a Neewer 600, with a six-foot scrim in front of it to soften the light and shadows, and captured this with my Sony a 7 iii with a Sigma 50 mm 1.4 art lens tethered to Capture One for the iPad.
For post-processing, I used Lightroom for local adjustments and then exported to Photoshop for light skin touchup and to clean up the backdrop. I extended to the right side of the backdrop because she was off-center a little, I shot horizontal. I lightened the right side of her face because it was a little darker than I wanted.
My biggest challenge was space. My living room is not big, so I had to sit on my window sill and use the 50mm to fit her in, and my light can only go so high because of a low ceiling.
