As I've said in other critiques, you have to learn the rules first before you can break them. There are a lot of creative portraits out there that show people like dancers, bodybuilders, or athletes with their back to the camera. This isn't one of them.
You have so much going on in the frame, yet your main subject just seems more like a void in the overall picture. The viewer's eyes immediately go to the right, left, and top of the frame, instead of directly to the person. Placing him directly in the center also makes for a very boring composition.
