This is a portrait of a local artist here in Fruita, Colorado. Jeff Bates followed a career in welding to designing and building sculptures that he has been commissioned to make nationally and locally. His local sculptures have graced the roundabouts around town as well as in downtown Fruita and Grand Junction, Colorado.
He asked us to get a portrait of one of his latest creations that was destined for a roundabout. I shot this with a Sony A7riii and an off camera flash modified with a 'MagMod Magsphere' and a 1/2 CTO gel.
