taken at the Botanical gardens in Montreal in late afternoon, 23 April '25. i was able to get to eye level with the rf200-800 lying in an awkward position tracking the pair of wood ducks. The male came closer and flared. i looked at his body position and saw him getting ready to flare. I could zoom back down to 200mm in time for an environmental shot and a full wingspan.
Shot with R5m2 , Rf200-800 @200mm f6.3, iso 1600, ss 1/1600
Animal eyetrack, Pre-Continuous Shooting enabled, 30fps.
