I took this photo with my Canon R6 Mark ii, with a EF to EOS R mount adapter with a Canon 70-200mm lens and 6-Star filter.

I was photographing a concert with the artist Sullivan King. He's a DJ who also plays guitar, his shows are high energy and full of production effects. In this shot there was cyro (smoke) and countless amount of lasers projected all inside the venue, moving at lightning speed. This was my first time shooting a concert with so many lasers and one of the biggest challenges I had was getting the camera to focus on my subject. Every time a laser moved (which was very often) my camera would think that's what it needed to focus on. With some quick adjustments of using the new technology of the R6ii's Flexible Zone AF, I got to create my own focus zone and to make it smaller of where I wanted my camera to focus and made sure I had Eye Detection AF. With these settings, the technology was able to pin point in less than a split second to find the artist's face, focus on them, and to stay continuously tracking as he moved and lasers getting in front of me.

I took the photo into Lightroom where I was able to color grade, enhance the shadows and really show the energy of the crowd, because of the dark nature of concerts, the more you bump shadows up, the noisier it will look with the already high ISO setting. With the AI Denoise, I was able to take some of that noise away for a smooth photo that hopefully can make you feel like you were at the show, seeing it with your eyes and feeling the energy of the room.
