I went into my back yard to try to find some interesting insects to photograph with a Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 macro lens, but nothing would sit still long enough. I was hoping to get some shots before mosquitoes could eat me alive. Suddenly, I felt a bit of a sting on the back of my left hand, and I looked over to see a bug finally sitting perfectly still. Granted it had stabbed its proboscis into one of my knuckles, but at least I finally got a shot to show for it.

Taken at 3:1 magnification using an EOS 6D Mark II and a 430EX III-RT speedlite with an ST-E3 RT transmitter using E-TTL metering.
