Shot as part of my Fractured series, this image captures the sensation of emotional drowning. Using the Pentax K-3 Mark III’s high ISO performance and a fast shutter, I froze water mid-impact in near darkness. The fabric was a small square scrim mounted on a PVC frame held over my head; generative fill was used to extend it and create the illusion of full coverage. Modern tools helped overcome physical limitations and fully realize the vision.
