"Command of Motion"
I captured this image during a high-intensity group workout using a slow shutter speed to blur the motion of athletes while keeping the instructor in focus. Shot handheld with a Nikon D850 at 1/10s, the image was lit using only the overhead LED hexagonal light and the ambient light from the windows.
My goal was to depict the energetic chaos of movement and the grounding force of the person leading it. The central figure appears calm and directive amidst the motion blur, symbolizing focus and inner strength. The geometric light overhead adds a conceptual layer — suggesting a sense of control, intention, or even ritual in what might otherwise seem like physical disorder.
