This image was made on a rainy evening when I stumbled upon a playful ladybug in my backyard. This little one seemed to be climbing up and down a glass blade for some time. I was able to quickly collect my gear and get quite low on the ground, fully soaked (with a straining back) and was able to quickly grab a few handheld shots. Luckily a few of them were keepers. The rain drops and grass foliage in the back make for an interesting bokeh. Shot with a Tokina 100 mm Macro mounted on Nikon D500 body, f/3.5, iso 100, 1/250s. Overcast late evening sky provided for soft sidelight. Edited in Lightroom mostly to desaturate the greens and adjust the tones to create a dramatic and creative effect. This is one of my favorite images.
