I named this image, "Barb." Both ironically naming the bird and for viewers to then discover the barbed wire. I shot it with a Tamron 150-600mm lens at 600mm on a Canon 5DMk3. I saw the turkey vulture on a high electric post, had gorgeous light on it, quickly pulled over and got out of the car, handheld the camera and big lens to get the shot in the light. 1/640sec at f/7.1. The long lens gave me the interesting bokeh background on this Northern California winter late afternoon light. February, 2014
