I took this photo many years ago with a beginer camera (Canon T3i) at Iguazú National Park, Argentina. It is an Amazon lava lizard (Tropidurus torquatus), a very small creature very common in the park.
I shot at the lizard's eye level to give this impression of a much larger and intimidating creature. I shot as wide as I could get (f5.6) but very close and with a long focal distance to reduce depth of field and focus in the eye.
Technical details: 250mm, ƒ/5.6, 1/30s, ISO 200
