There had been a downpour one evening and I spotted these raindrops sitting on the surface of an outside table. The daylight had finished so I reached out for a torch and added some back light. I tried many different angles for the light from immediately above to front and all sides! there was a gentle breeze to add to the challenge, so the shutter speed had to be shorter enough to be able to freeze any movement. I choose to shoot wide open as the bokeh looked really special with this ultra shallow depth of field. The camera was set on a tripod so I could really concentrate on the subject and just what composition to go for. I used a Fuji macro prime that excels in it's close-up capabilities and quality. There was little post production, just a conversion to b&w and a small crop to the foreground.
