This mission came with a number of difficulties. First, we had to time the gaps in the clouds so that we could get cross lighting on the trees/leaves. Second, the skater had to constantly be on the lookout for walkers, joggers, and dogs! (There was a close call in there). Third, this was shot from a public road with a bike path that winds and meanders through the trees. This made it difficult for my wife (driver) to maintain speed but stay relatively close to the speed limit. As for the photo methods and difficulties, I was constantly gauging both his distance from me, and the proper focal distance to achieve shallow depth. My goal was for him to be in focus and for everything on both sides being soft; add to that the trees, bushes, branches, etc. Overall, these efforts are always a great time and we were all completely pumped on the results. Sony Alpha A7iii, 70-200 F4 G OSS, 200mm, iso 1250, f6.3, 1/60th. (No dogs, skaters, drivers, or pedestrians were harmed, everyone went home safe).
