I took this picture under the canopy of tall and thick trees across the deer park in Nara, Japan. There were less deer nipping or headbutting you in this area. Lighting was tricky too because it rained earlier. I was lucky to take this quick shot of a doe standing still under a beam of sunlight breaking through the seams of the canopy. The shot gives the deer an ethereal glow which fits the belief that they are messengers of the gods in local legend. Rest assured, this "paid actress" was well-compensated with deer biscuits. The photo was taken with my Sony Alpha Z EV-10 and with my Sigma 18-50 mm F 2.8 lens.
