I was lucky in finding this late fall migration of monarch butterflies. I often take my camera with me on my daily walks. One of our local parks was filled with color from blooming Blazing Star in a meadow. I was surprised to see hundreds of monarch butterflies feeding and mating swirling and fighting among the purple blooms. I had never seen so many in one area and it was a photographers treat. To isolate the seen I zoomed my canon 100mm to 500mm lens to 500mm at F7.1. It was a bright day so I could keep my iso reasonably low to control noise at a shutter speed of 1\2000 of a second. It is one of those images that may be a once in a lifetime shot.
