This image was created during a rainy moment of a wedding day, using rain and light as equal visual elements. Wanting to approach a similar scene in a different way, I focused on building depth and separation through controlled backlighting rather than relying only on ambient light.
I placed a speedlight (Godox TT685II) about one meter behind the couple, directly on the ground, with the zoom set to 24mm and aimed into the transparent umbrella. This backlight revealed the raindrops and defined the outline of the couple. From the front, I lit the scene with a 100W LED — Zhiyun Cinepeer CX100, combined with a Fresnel lens, shaping a focused, cinematic key light.
The photo was taken with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II and RF 28–70mm f/2 L USM, at f/2.2, 1/160 sec, ISO 1250, balancing flash and continuous light in manual mode.
In post-production, I refined contrast and color balance, keeping the background deep and the highlights controlled. The goal was to transform rain into texture and atmosphere, turning a challenging weather condition into the core visual story.

This photo is magical and if you were making a photo book about humanity, I would want it included in it.
