On this visit to my local nature sanctuary, I was challenging myself to capture hummingbirds in flight. Due to inconsistent light conditions in this area and how quickly the hummingbirds moved from spot to spot, I used auto ISO and kept my shutter speed lower than I normally would for hummingbirds (1/1250). I was thrilled to capture this particular hummingbird as it attempted to feed on an insect. Captured Aug. 31, 2025 on the Canon EOS R5 and EF 100-400mm lens with EF-RF adapter.
