A beautiful conditioned female leopard walking in the early morning shadows along the dry Aoub River bed near Auchterlonie in Kgalagadi, just at sunrise in early January. This shy, graceful and powerful predator strode right in front of me with purpose and intent. She had a healthy looking leopard cub with her, that followed behind. This image reflects this majestic cats presence and relevance in balancing the food chain in this very arid region contributing to the diversity in the Biome.
Taken with the fujifilm XT5 and the 1/640s, f6.6, ISO 3200, Fujinon 100-400 (FL 214,6mm).

This is a good photo Nigel. But there's so much that I'm constantly looking for here. It feels like there's so much more to this story. And I'm glad you told us. I'm wanting to feel that early morning. Catch those longer shadows and having her skulking around. Maybe having her pup slightly behind. Maybe waiting for that sliver of light. And maybe looking for something to contrast with her...either that, or some long grass she's hiding in and blending in with. You know? Fun photo and I would have definitely taken the same one and definitely kept it!
