During the summer months in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park its the rainy season where the moisture laden atmosphere from the Southern Atlantic ocean sweeps over Southern Africa. After a big rain storm on the Friday night the Auob dry river bed was full of water the Saturday morning. While heading north from Auchterlonie i came across these two Giraffe standing on the side of the road. I literally had less than ten seconds to take the shot. Luckily my Fujifilm XT5 camera already had the fujinon 90 mm f2 lens attached. I stopped and took the photo in Jpg format. Post editing was done in LRC with changes to brightness. ISO 64, 1/400s, f2. This image has been printed and hangs in the entrance hall to Kgalagadi Border reception.

Very cool use of the reflection. The water was almost perfectly still! And that sky manages to pull them out of the desert feel and give a little something to separate them with their camouflaged skin. Nice work!
